Ardent Yearning for Kim Jong Il Runs Higher in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The ardent yearning for leader Kim Jong Il is running higher among the Korean people on the occasion of the Day of the Shinning Star (Feb.16), his birth anniversary.

An endless stream of visitors carrying bouquets and flowers flows to statues of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and mosaics picturing their smiling images across the country.

Establishments and individuals presented potted Kimjongilias in full bloom for flower exhibitions, including the 17th Kimjongilia Festival in Pyongyang.

Songs featuring ardent yearning for Kim Jong Il are heard everywhere in the country.

In his lifetime he traveled nearly 700 000 kilometer-long journey for the wellbeing of the local people. In this course he unhesitatingly got on a man car to meet miners in a deep underground pit, personally opened a family's cooking pot to see the kind of food they were taking and even named a to-be-born baby at the request of a pregnant housewife.

That is why all the people in the DPRK have always regarded him as their father and the eternal shining star.
