Kim Jong Il's Feats for Development of Nation's Light Industry
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- On the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il, the Korean people are recollecting with deep emotion the devoted service he had made in his lifetime for the development of local light industry.

Thanks to his energetic guidance, light industrial factories of the country were updated and are now in full operation.

The year 2011, the last year of his life, was marked by his intensive guidance tour of light industrial factories.

Among them were the Ryongaksan Spring Water Factory, foodstuff factories in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province and the Hamhung Woolen Mill in South Hamgyong Province.

When he visited the Hamhung Woolen Mill, he was very pleased to see the production of vinalon cloth resumed after 17 years.

Visiting the Tetron rayon fabrics workshop at the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill, he carefully looked into its product, calling on the mill to mass-produce various kinds of cloth favored by the people.

His guidance tour continued without letup day and night, revitalizing the light industrial bases one by one.

After all, his devoted efforts laid solid foundations for bringing about a production upsurge in the country's light industry.
