Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- The news that the DPRK successfully conducted the third underground nuclear test was reported in various countries between February 12 and 14. The Myanmar News Agency said under the title "The DPRK has conducted the third nuclear test": The DPRK announced on Feb. 12 that it conducted the third underground nuclear test. The Korean Central News Agency said in its report that the nuclear test was conducted as part of substantial counter-measures for protecting the country's security and sovereignty against the outrageous U.S. hostile acts of having wantonly violated the DPRK's legitimate right to satellite launch for peaceful purposes. The report said that the nuclear test was carried out in a safe and perfect manner at the highest level by use of a miniaturized and lighter A-bomb unlike the previous ones, yet with great explosive power and it was confirmed that it had no negative impact on the surrounding ecological environment. The specific features of the function and explosive power of the A-bomb and all other measurements fully tallied with the values of the design, physically demonstrating the good performance of the DPRK's nuclear deterrence that has become diversified, the report added. Various other media reported the same news. They included the Russian internet magazines Mar 12, Hanber Journal, internet homepages of the Far Eastern Association for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and the Moscow Workers' Union and other internet homepages of Russia, the Cuban paper Granma, the Vietnamese Central TV, the Nepal Today, the Algerie Presse Service, an internet paper and an internet website of Ukraine and the internet website of the Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK. |
