Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Korea has witnessed frequent snowfalls this month marking the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (February 16). Such snowfalls remind the Korean people of the tireless efforts Kim Jong Il made for their happiness and the prosperity of the country. In his lifetime he traveled a ceaseless journey of field guidance to all sectors of the country even under rains and snowfalls so as to provide the people with better living conditions. Out of his noble mission for the country and the people, he continued his journey of guidance until the last moments of his life, braving snowstorm. It was January 1, Juche 86 (1997) when the leader visited the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School. It was heavily snowing that day. Visiting the school, he said that it was the first time for him to see blizzard on the New Year's Day but it was a sign of good fortune. He regarded it as his happiness to go through rainy and snowy storms for the rosy future of the country and the people. That is why the people in the DPRK have sorely missed him and recalled his career, singing a song reflecting their wish that the leader would no longer go through heavy snow. |
