IIJI Director-General Interviewed by KCNA
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Vishwanath, director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea (IIJI) who doubles as secretary general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council, was interviewed by the Korean Central News Agency. He is visiting the DPRK to celebrate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

The progressive mankind warmly congratulated the DPRK on its successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 into orbit last December, he said.

He stressed that the exercise of sovereignty is the legal and just right of an independent country.

The DPRK exercised its sovereignty according to international law on peaceful use of space. The U.S., however, branded the satellite launch as "a grave challenge" and got the UN Security Council cook up "a resolution on sanction", he added.

The National Defence Commission and Foreign Ministry of the DPRK flatly rejected the unwarranted "resolution" in their statements, he stressed, and went on:

The statements said that they will take certain physical counter measures of beefing up the military capabilities for self-defense including a nuclear deterrent.

The DPRK succeeded in the underground nuclear test on Feb. 12.

This shows the DPRK's stand of doing whatever it says will do.

It is quite illogical to say that the U.S. and its followers may launch satellites but DPRK can not launch and must even be exposed to "sanctions" if it does so.

He said he fully supports all the fair measures taken by the DPRK on behalf of groups for the study of the Juche idea and Juche idea followers.

The world conscience is full of confidence and will clearly witness, he stressed.
