The statement said that the DPRK carried out the nuclear test without giving any negative effect to the surrounding ecological environment.

The test was part of practical countermeasures taken by the DPRK to defend the security and sovereignty of the country and develop the self-defensive nuclear deterrence to cope with the hostile actions of the U.S. and its allies which wantonly violated a sovereign state's legitimate right to develop the space for peaceful purposes, and its allies, the statement added.

It noted that the party and all revolutionaries of the world warmly congratulated the DPRK on achieving successes one after another in the field of science and technology, and are sincerely rejoiced over those successes.

The U.S. and its allies are not entitled to take issue with the nuclear test of the DPRK for self-defence as the U.S. plunged mankind into a nuclear holocaust for the first time in the world, conducted more nuclear tests than others and has possessed nukes enough to kill mankind scores of times, the statement added.

The DPRK has access to the nuclear deterrent for self-defence to safeguard the sovereignty and security of the country and its people as it has constantly been exposed to threat from the U.S., it said.

It extended support and solidarity to the self-defensive measure of the DPRK, bitterly condemning the U.S. and its allies for their anti-DPRK moves.
