The north conducted the third underground nuclear test to cope with the UN Security Council's "resolution on sanctions" against it over its successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2, the organization said.

The U.S., however, is pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to a serous crisis by kicking up the "sanctions" racket against the north again, it charged.

The U.S., Japan, south Korean authorities and conservative media are vociferating about the north's provocation and its abrogation of the agreement but the U.S. is the real provocateur and its violator, it held.

Pressure and confrontation will only lead to a war, it said, urging the U.S. to roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
