Demskov, editor-in-chief of the Patriot of Russia, said in his speech that Kim Jong Il performed great exploits for the human cause of independence.

He turned the DPRK into a military power in a short span of time despite difficulties, said Demskov, adding:

The successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 was the fruition of the much pains taken by Kim Jong Il, who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and nation.

Wipin Gupta, chairman of the Juche Philosophy Study Committee of India, lauded Kim Jong Il as an outstanding thinker and theoretician, great statesman, iron-willed brilliant commander and defender of socialism.

At a time when socialism faced a serious crisis in the late 20th century, Kim Jong Il proved the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism and its inevitable victory to give confidence to the progressive people, the chairman added.

Chairman Shahida Wijarat and Secretary General Javed Ansari of the Society for the Study of Self-Reliance of Pakistan and other speakers said the revolutionary life of Kim Jong Il shines with the exploits he performed by preserving and glorifying the idea of President Kim Il Sung.
