Japan Urged to Lift "Sanctions" against DPRK

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan on Wednesday released a statement in denunciation of the Japanese government's suppression of Chongryon (the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan). It said that all the officials of the union and Korean women in Japan can hardly repress their mounting anger at the Japanese government's evermore desperate campaigns against the DPRK, Chongryon and Koreans in Japan. The Japanese government is getting frantic with suppression of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, while playing a double-dealing trick of enforcing harsh discrimination against Koreans and resorting to the assimilation farce, far from making apology and reparation for its past crimes, the statement noted, and continued: The Japanese government took such unreasonable measure as banning the reentry of vice-chairmen of Chongryon into Japan after the DPRK's successful nuclear test for self-defence. Chongryon has always worked for the harmony of the Korean community and happy future of posterity on the principle of non-interference in other's internal affairs and law-observance. It is nothing but a pretext for misleading public opinion to charge that Chongryon vice-chairmen are "those who are in a position to render substantial help to the authorities of north Korea as their staff members". The Central Standing Committee of the women's union resolutely denounces the Japanese government's base and inhumane step on behalf of all the angry Korean women in Japan. We will struggle in firm unity in demand of the Japanese government's apology, reparation, guarantee of human rights and right to live as descendants of the victims of Japan's colonial domination. The Japanese government must stop at once all the unreasonable "sanctions" including additional "sanctions". |
