S. Korean Regime's Illegal Surveillance of Civilians Disclosed

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- A series of political gangsterism and murders by the south Korean Lee Myung Bak group of traitors has recently been opened to public. The Human Rights Committee confirmed that the office for supporting the observation of ethics of government employees illegally watched civilians, violating their basic rights. The committee demanded Lee Myung Bak stop illegal surveillance of people, reinstate those who suffered from it and take necessary measures. The Human Rights Committee of south Korea has more than 10 years of history but it is the first time that it directly made its request to the "president". The puppet regime has been engrossed in the politically-motivated illegal surveillance of civilians while setting up a fascist dictatorial system since the first period of its office. The regime indiscriminately investigated and watched civilians. Not only progressive reunification movement organizations and figures but those who had previously been related to the former "regimes" including ex-"presidents", law makers, director generals of major media organizations, businessmen and even ministers and vice-ministers were subject to the surveillance. Their activities were directly reported to Chongwadae. The riff-raffs of the "Saenuri Party" systematically took over the reports of surveillance and exploited them for hurting and attacking political dissidents and opposition parties. They made no scruple of wiretapping an office of a representative of an opposition party in the building of the "National Assembly". Last year the illegal surveillance conducted by the office for supporting the observation of ethics of government employees has become all the more pronounced. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the cases which the persecution investigated against its will numbered 500 and that it admitted its surveillance of dozens of VIPs including ex- and incumbent law makers and chiefs of autonomous organizations. The truth behind the death of former "president" Roh Moo Hyun, who fell victim to the illegal surveillance, was disclosed, astonishing people. On February 20, the Seoul Central District Court punished those who pushed Roh to death and inflicted irretrievable damage to his family, stressing that it was a sheer lie that he had an account by the name of other person. This proves that the "case of illegal fund" which the prosecution claimed as a reason of investigation was a whopping lie. All facts prove that traitor Lee Myung Bak is a chief culprit who engineered Roh's death. |
