Tablet to Honour Kim Jong Il Unveiled in Russia

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- A tablet to honour general secretary Kim Jong Il was fixed to a wall of Gaban Hotel in Vladivostok, Russia. Engraved on it are "Comrade Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and Generalissimo of the DPRK, paid an official visit to the Far East Federal Region of the Russian Federation and stayed at Gaban Hotel on August 23, 2002." A ceremony for unveiling the tablet took place on Feb. 20. Present there were officials of the Legislative Assembly of the Maritime Territory of Russia, the mission of the Foreign Ministry in Vladivostok, the Vladivostok City Assembly and political parties and organizations of the maritime territory, those who had the honour to be received by Kim Jong Il, masses and the consul general and staff members of the DPRK consulate general in Nakhodka. The chairman of the Association for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism in the Far East Region made an address. The first secretary of the Maritime Territory Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the director general of Gaban Hotel and the DPRK consul general in Nakhodka unveiled the tablet. After it was unveiled, the participants laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before it. Then followed speeches. The participants watched a Korean film dealing with Kim Jong Il's visit to the Far East Region of Russia. |
