Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is letting loose a spate of invectives that the third nuclear test of the DPRK is "a violation of the UN Security Council's resolution" and "a provocation threatening global peace and security". Minju Joson Sunday says in a bylined commentary in this regard: The army and people of the DPRK regard these remarks as nothing but jargon of those bereft of discretion and reason, blinded by the hostile policy toward the DPRK. The DPRK's third underground nuclear test was not aimed to threaten anyone or wreck peace. By nature, the DPRK had neither a plan to conduct the nuclear test nor need to do so. The U.S., however, deterred the DPRK from focusing its efforts on developing the economy and improving the standard of people's living under the peaceful and stable circumstances. Such ill intention of the U.S. was concentrically manifested when the DPRK launched satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 in December last year. The satellite launch was an exercise of the legitimate right of a sovereign state under international law. But the U.S. pulled up the DPRK only over its satellite launch. It has desperately worked to put international pressure on the DPRK, seizing it as a golden opportunity for stepping up its hostile policy toward the latter. The DPRK was compelled to make an important decision under the grim situation where the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK entered a grave phase and the DPRK was barred from staging in peace a drive for developing the economy and improving the standard of people's living. This was the very reason why it conducted the third underground nuclear test. The U.S. is to blame for the situation on the Korean Peninsula inching close to an unpredictable phase. |
