They conducted provocative large-scale joint military exercises whose program involved "detecting and tracking ballistic missile and anti-ship firing and detecting and tracking submarine, etc. from early in February till mid-February in the East Sea of Korea. In their wake they staged joint anti-submarine exercises including drills for countering torpedo attack and drills of sea-patrol planes for detecting and attacking targets under the signboard of bolstering the U.S.-south Korean "joint operation capability."

The U.S. imperialists and south Korean warmongers announced their plan to stage Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises in March.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This is a revelation of a criminal scenario to ignite a new war on the Korean Peninsula at any cost.

What is ridiculous that the warmongers are employing a trite method of conducting counter-propaganda.

"Grave challenge" and "threat" touted by them sound as nothing but a shrill cry made by those scared stiff by the might of Songun Korea ready not to pardon the violators of its sovereignty.

If the U.S. warmongers have an iota of discretion, they should bear in mind what consequences will be entailed by their infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK, a full-fledged nuclear weapons state.

If they ignite a war against the north in the end, they are bound to perish in the flames kindled by them.

They had better behave themselves, keenly aware of the gravity of the situation.
