An awarding ceremony took place on Monday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Pak To Chun, and officials concerned, those scientists, technicians, workers, soldier-builders and officials in the field of science for national defence.

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly who doubles as a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, conveyed a decree of the SPA Presidium of the DPRK.

Those people who contributed to the successful nuclear test were awarded title of Hero of the DPRK with a gold star medal and Order of National Flag 1st Class, Order of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Il Prize.

59 were awarded wrist watches bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung, and 19 the wrist watches bearing the august name of general secretary Kim Jong Il, and 74 citations of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, and 22 the citations of Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Then speeches were made.

Speakers said that they would embody Kim Jong Il's patriotism and rapidly develop the nuclear technology of the country by raising the hot wind of pushing back the frontiers of latest science and technology so as to further glorify the country as a matchless nuclear weapons state.

They pledged to keep today's honor and happiness, remain wholeheartedly loyal to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un and continuously win fresh victories, united close around the Party.
