Choe Thae Bok, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, spoke at the banquet.

He said that a great success in the recent nuclear test, another victory in the all-out action against the enemies, is a great national event to be specially recorded, which was brought about by the iron will and matchless grit of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He called upon those in the field of national defence science to live up to the great trust and expectation of the Party in their heart of hearts, always bearing in their minds benevolence of Kim Jong Un.

He also called upon them to cherish Kim Jong Il's patriotism, make great innovations and leaping progress in the drive of pushing back the frontiers of science and technology for steadily bolstering up the nuclear deterrent of the country with the same spirit and mettle as displayed in succeeding in the nuclear test and thus make positive contributions to fully demonstrating the dignity and the national power of the great Paektusan nation.
