The movement is aimed at dynamically carrying out the three revolutions, ideological, technological and cultural, in all realms of social life.

After the establishment of the socialist system in the DPRK in the late 1950s, the Workers' Party of Korea was faced with the tasks to eliminate the backwardness in the fields of ideology, technology and culture and carry on socialist construction on a higher stage.

President Kim Il Sung initiated the three-revolution team movement in early Juche 62 (1973) and saw to it that three-revolution teams were organized with hardcore party officials and university graduates to be active at factories and farms throughout the country.

The movement helps combine political guidance with technological one, encourage superiors to assist their subordinates and galvanize the popular masses into action, thus pushing ahead with the three revolutions.

General secretary Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the three-revolution team movement in his lifetime. He consummated the theory on the movement and wisely led the movement to fully display its validity and vitality.

Thanks to the energetic efforts of the team members, the ideological unity of society based on the Juche idea has been cemented and the socialist way of life established under the slogan "One for all and all for one!" Their activities also resulted in strengthened creative collaboration between workers and technicians and brisk mass technical innovations.

The movement speeded up the self-reliance in the nation's economy, the updating of technical means and the scientification of production and management. And it helped make lots of achievements for improving the people's living standard.

Meanwhile, it greatly contributed to stepping up the construction of socialist culture.

The practical experience shows that the three-revolution team movement is instrumental to successfully accelerating the socialist cause of Juche.
