DPRK Service Personnel Vow to Take Lead in Spring Tree Planting

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- Service personnel of the DPRK are active in spring tree planting to turn the country into a socialist fairyland in thick verdure. A meeting of the service personnel of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces was held Friday near the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. They vowed to thoroughly implement orders from the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA), who called on soldiers to take the lead in turning the country into thick woodland and greenery. Present at the meeting were Kim Kyok Sik, minister of the People's Armed Forces, its First Vice Minister Hyon Chol Hae, its officials, KPA service personnel and students of military schools at all levels. Speeches were made following the minister's report. The reporter and speakers said Generalissimo Kim Jong Il put forward the KPA in the mass tree-planting movement, true to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung's intention of building a prosperous country. Mapping out a grand plan of the land development, Kim Jong Un made sure that modern tree nurseries were built, and energetically led the work for spreading new species of lawn to the whole country, they said. They called on all the service personnel to turn out in the tree planting, true to the intention of Kim Jong Un and fully display their patriotic enthusiasm. After the meeting the participants planted trees around the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun with great care. |
