Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in an editorial marking the 94th anniversary of the March First Popular Uprising.

The editorial goes on:

The March First Popular Uprising taught a bitter lesson that the popular masses should be led by an outstanding leader and they must build up their own powerful forces and launch an organized struggle in line with a correct strategy and tactics if they are to emerge victors in the struggle for the sovereignty of the nation and independence of the country.

Korea was mercilessly trampled down by the Japanese imperialists a century ago but the DPRK has now emerged a political and military power and its people are demonstrating their dignity as an independent people whom no one dares provoke. The military and technical superiority is no longer monopoly of the imperialists and gone are the days never to return when the enemies could threaten and blackmail the DPRK with A-bombs.

All Koreans should have transparent consciousness of independence and resolutely stand up against the U.S. hostile moves against the DPRK and wage a dynamic struggle for driving the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops out of south Korea. South Koreans should decisively frustrate such traitorous acts as hurting national interests in collusion with outside forces.

All Koreans should frustrate through concerted efforts the moves of the U.S. and south Korean warmongers to ignite a war against the DPRK as they bring the danger of a nuclear war to the Korean Peninsula in violation of the independent right of the DPRK.

All Koreans must unite close in the idea of "By our nation itself", foil the traitorous confrontation and war moves through a nationwide patriotic struggle for reunification and open up a new phase of national reunification.
