Kim Jong Il's Birthday Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- The birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star) was marked in different countries. Korean book, photo and fine art exhibitions took place with due ceremonies in Russia and Bulgaria, book and photo exhibitions in Brazil, South Africa and Nigeria and film shows in Guinea, India, Indonesia and Thailand from Feb. 11 to 17. On display in the venues of the events were photos on revolutionary activities of Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un, Korean books including works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, photos introducing Songun Korea and fine arts associated with creative skills of Koreans. Films shown included Korean films "Pyongyang at Night" and "Arms of Korea". The first vice-minister of Culture of the Khabarovsk Territorial Government of Russia in his speech said that he was pleased to hold the book, photo and fine art exhibition showing the reality of the DPRK prospering under the leadership of Kim Jong Un who is reliably carrying forward the cause of the preceding leaders on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star. The vice mayor of Simitli City of Bulgaria said he was pleased to know better about the shining successes achieved in the DPRK recently through the exhibition. He hoped that the exhibition would make a contribution to promoting friendship between the peoples of the two countries and developing exchange and cooperation between them. The national coordinator of the Genuine Democratic Movement of Brazil praised Kim Jong Il for laying a strong foundation for building a thriving socialist nation through his undying patriotic devotion. The deputy chief of the Guinean Group for the Study of Kimjongilism said that thanks to the far-reaching plan and energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il the DPRK could emerge a manufacturer and launcher of satellite and a nuclear weapons state and register astonishing achievements in all fields. |
