Japan's Discrimination against Korean Schools Protested
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Those concerned of Korean schools, students and other Koreans in Saitama and Kanagawa prefectures and other parts of Japan are denouncing the prefectural local autonomous bodies for deciding not to subsidize Korean schools.

The principal of Saitama Korean Primary, Secondary and High School, the director general of Saitama Korean School, the representative of students' parents and a representative of a Japanese organization supporting them held a press conference at the Saitama Citizens Hall on March 3.

They recalled that on Feb. 13 Saitama Prefecture made a decision not to subsidize Saitama Korean Primary, Secondary and High School under the pretext of "abduction, nuke and missile".

Students have the right to learn wherever they live and it should be preserved from the international legal point of view, they said.

Meanwhile, a person concerned of Korean school and the mothers' council in Kanagawa Prefecture are staging protest actions at the Prefectural office every day. On Feb. 28 the principal and teachers of Kanagawa Korean Secondary and High School, students and their parents met a person in charge of the prefecture and demanded the payment of subsidies.

They called for paying subsidies to Korean schools in the prefecture immediately.
