"News of Soldiers' Home Villages", Favorite TV Program of DPRK People
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- "News of Soldiers' Home Villages", one of fixed TV programs, is very popular among people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The program features soldiers and their parents who devote themselves to defending and developing the country. It informs the servicepersons of news about their home towns undergoing radical changes as well as their parents and sisters and brothers working feats for the prosperity of the country.

In this way it contributes to stirring up the army and people's spirit of defending the country and patriotism.

Ri In Chol, a soldier of the Korean People's Army, told KCNA:

"We, soldiers, are pleasantly enjoying this program.

Some time ago, TV aired news of my home village and my parents. At that time my officers and fellow soldiers cheered and treated me as a son of hero.

I could not go into sleep that night for self-consciousness rather than joy. The request of my parents and the villagers for devotedly defending the socialist motherland came home to my heart.

I will remain loyal to the guidance of Supreme Commander Marshal Kim Jong Un with arms in my hand for life."

Ra Yong Sim, a mother of three soldiers living in Pothonggang District, Pyongyang, said:

"To watch the program 'News of Soldiers' Home Villages' is a pleasant time for my family.

The looks of my children in military uniforms on TV give me happiness and strength. This feeling would go for other parents, too."

TV program "News of Soldiers' Home Villages" was set up at the proposal of leader Kim Jong Il. He saw to it that the program is broadcast at a time appropriate to soldiers.
