State Commendations Conferred on Athletes in DPRK

| Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Kum Ok, marathoner of the April 25 Sports Team, and her coach were awarded the title of People's Athlete. She bagged a gold medal at the 14th Asian Marathon Championship, making the DPRK flag fly high, giving great pleasure and inspiration to all service personnel and people and demonstrating the dignity and honor of the great Paektusan nation to the world. The Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly announced a decree on awarding the title on Friday. |
