Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea on March 6 held a press conference in Seoul demanding a total revision of the unequal south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA). At the press release the organization recalled that GI criminals in south Korea went on shooting spree against passers-by in front of a hotel in Rithaewon-dong, Ryongsan District, Seoul on March 2. It demanded that those criminals be severely punished as they threatened the security and lives of the people. In the wake of the incident, the deputy commander of the U.S. Eighth Army talked about "regret" and "cooperation in investigation", but he has not yet handed the criminals to the south Korean side, it said. It urged the commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea to make an official apology and immediately hand the criminals to the south Korean side. It demanded a total revision of SOFA, the source of deliberate crimes of U.S. troops. |
