A war is unavoidable on the Korean Peninsula unless the U.S. "sanctions" racket and war exercises against the north are halted, the statement said.

The U.S. is to blame for the prevailing situation, the statement noted, accusing it of kicking up the "sanctions" racket while taking issue with the north over its successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2, an application satellite.

Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises are bringing the second Korean war, it said, demanding an immediate halt to the war maneuvers aimed to hurl people as cannon fodder.

It urged the south Korean authorities to opt for improving relations with the north, not joining the U.S. in its moves against the north.

Now is the time for the people to turn out in the action for peace against war, it said, stressing: Progressive forces should wage a dynamic struggle to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula, holding high the slogan calling for opposition to the unreasonable "sanctions" against the north and stop to the war maneuvers.
