Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Koreans in the U.S. launched actions to denounce the joint military exercises kicked off by the U.S. and south Korean puppet warmongers and their "sanctions" racket against the DPRK. Koreans in Washington, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and other areas of the U.S. on March 10 sent an open letter to the U.S. president in the name of the U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and other organizations and individuals. They in the open letter said that "sanctions" and pressure are by no means a peaceful solution, adding the "sanctions" against the DPRK sparked off only tension and crisis in the past also. They demanded an immediate start of the DPRK-U.S. dialogue for concluding a peace treaty on the Korean Peninsula, nullification of the UN Security Council's "resolution on sanctions" that was initiated by the U.S. and a halt to the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises. The Federation of Koreans in the U.S. in a statement on March 8 demanded the U.S. come out for dialogue with the north, not a war. Members of the U.S. Central Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration staged a demonstration in Chicago on March 9 denouncing the north-targeted war maneuvers. Members of the U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and other Koreans in the U.S. staged a protest before the UN Headquarters in New York on March 11. They demanded the U.S. stop at once all war maneuvers including the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises that wreak peace on the Korean Peninsula and increase the danger of a war there, products of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. There also took place before White House in Washington, and in Los Angeles and other areas of the U.S. demonstrations of Koreans in the U.S. to slam the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. |
