Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Italian and Pakistani political figures released statements on March 9 and 10 in support of the DPRK's measures for self-defence to defend its sovereignty. Roberto Gabriele, general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, extended full support and solidarity to the DPRK government's all measures taken by it to cope with the evermore undisguised war threat of the imperialists and the UN Security Council's illegal "resolutions on sanctions" against the DPRK. He went on: The large-scale joint military exercises being staged on the Korean Peninsula by the U.S. and its allies are not simple drills but aimed to make a preemptive nuclear strike. They are, therefore, an unpardonable provocation and wanton violation of international law. What is clear is that the U.S. has already transferred and deployed its aggressor troops in the Asia-Pacific region and is working hard to spark off a new dispute to tide over its economic crisis. Progressive mankind should be keenly aware that the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula was created by the imperialists keen to dominate the world and wage a positive struggle against them. Haji Mohammad Said, secretary general of the Pakistan Labour Federation, demanded the UNSC withdraw its "resolutions on sanctions" against the DPRK at once. The "resolutions" clearly indicate that the UNSC is being abused by the U.S. for pursuing its hostile policy towards the DPRK designed to disarm the DPRK, stifle it economically and bring down the ideology and system chosen by the Korean people, he noted, urging the UN not to infringe upon the legitimate right of the sovereign state to its independent development. He stressed that the DPRK's nuclear deterrent provides a firm guarantee for defending the sovereignty and an all-powerful treasured sword for frustrating the nuclear war moves of the U.S. imperialists and accelerating the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. |
