North-targeted Joint War Exercises Protested in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- The Emergency Action against War and for Peace on the Korean Peninsula in south Korea which groups over 30 organizations including the Solidarity for Progress and the People's Strength for Building New World held a rally in Seoul on March 16 in protest against the joint military exercises for invading the north.

At the rally speakers accused the U.S. and the south Korean authorities of staging the Key Resolve from March 11, escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula and pushing the situation to the brink of war.

"Sanctions" and military pressure have been escalated against the north, they said, denouncing the present regime for paying lip service to dialogue while showing no will for peace.

They demanded the authorities stop at once the war drills for aggression and "sanctions" against the north.
