Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- 16 political parties and organizations of Peru including the Communist Party of Peru "Red Motherland", the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Institute and the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship released a joint statement on March 12 in protest against the UN "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK. The statement said: It is natural for all countries to have weapons for self-defence to defend their people from aggression of the hostile forces. The DPRK has made every possible effort to defend peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula to cope with the entirely unreasonable "resolution" adopted by the UN Security Council. However, the U.S. is staging the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises, posing a constant threat to the peace-loving Korean people. The DPRK is left with no option but to take the toughest countermeasures to defuse the threat of enemies and defend the sovereignty of the country under the prevailing grave situation. The "resolution on sanctions" cooked up by the UNSC at the prodding of the U.S. will only compel the DPRK to take stronger second and third countermeasures much earlier than expected. The UNSC touched off the unbearable grudge of the Korean nation by playing the role of a servant for the U.S. in its war of aggression in 1950. It should take issue with the U.S. nuclear war maneuvers to invade the DPRK, dismantle the "UN Command" at once and take measures to defuse the tension on the Korean Peninsula. We fully support the measures taken by the DPRK to cope with the moves of the U.S. and its stooges for aggression and extend solidarity to the peace-loving Korean people. |
