Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Escalating Tension on Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- Different countries and forces of the world have launched more than 9 000 satellites and conducted at least 2 000 nuclear tests but their acts did not push the situation in relevant regions to the brink of a war.

Rodong Sinmun Thursday says this in a bylined article.

The fact goes to prove that satellite launch and nuclear test for self-defence are not a major factor of escalating tension and provoking a war, the article notes, and goes on:

However, the situation on the Korean Peninsula is quite different from what is happening in other regions. Whenever the DPRK launches a satellite and takes a just measure for self-defence, the situation on the Korean Peninsula is driven to the phase of a war, occasioned by them.

All this is entirely attributable to the U.S.

The aim sought by the U.S. in escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme phase is to create favorable environment for establishing hegemony over the Asia-Pacific.

Escalating the tension on the peninsula in a crafty and premeditated manner, the U.S. has created conditions for ensuring the permanent presence of the U.S. troops and bolstering up its military capacity to lay a siege to big powers in the Asia-Pacific.

It seeks to tide over its economic crisis by unleashing another Korean war.

Even if the DPRK does not launch a satellite and conduct a nuclear test, the U.S. will remain unchanged in its wild ambition to dominate the Asia-Pacific region. The stronger position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state would put a brake on the U.S. efforts to realize its ambition to dominate the Asia-Pacific region and help protect peace and stability in the region.

The DPRK will keep taking measures to bolster up its deterrence to cope with the U.S. imperialists' reckless moves for a new war, concludes the article.
