Candlelight Rally against War Maneuvers Held in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- Members of civic and public organizations of south Korea including the Solidarity for Progress and the People's Strength for Building New World held a candlelight rally in Seoul on March 16 to oppose the joint military exercises of the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet forces. At the rally speakers denounced the "government" authorities for terming those wanting to live in peace against war "followers of the north". Peace is a desire of all Koreans, they noted. We can never tolerate a war which will bring benefits only to the U.S. munitions monopolistic capital, they held. They called for showing children who do not know about a war how to keep the promise made to the nation -- June 15 joint declaration -- and carry it out to defend peace. They also called for bringing earlier the day when Koreans will live in a reunified land free from war. |
