U.S., S. Korean Authorities Urged to Apologize for War Crimes
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- 16 peace movement organizations of south Korea held a joint press conference on March 19 ten years since the U.S. imperialists' invasion of Iraq.

The organizations recalled that the Bush administration in league with its satellite forces kicked off a military attack on Iraq on March 20, 2003 under the pretext of eliminating WMDs and bringing democracy to Iraq.

But WMDs were not discovered in the country and the war only brought a miserable fate to Iraqis such as horror, poverty, civilian genocide and joblessness, they deplored, and went on:

One of the main aims sought by the U.S. in starting the war was to rob Iraq of oil and the U.S. admitted this itself.

They demanded the U.S. admit its war crimes and apologize for them, though belatedly, and bring Bush and other arch criminals to a war crimes tribunal.

South Korea can never evade the responsibility for the criminal Iraqi war as recognized by the world, they said.

They denounced the authorities for dispatching huge armed forces to Iraq under the pretext of the alliance with the U.S. and playing a big role in its invasion of Iraq.

The organizations urged the authorities to apologize for their criminal participation in the war and immediately halt the overseas troop dispatch.
