KCNA Commentary Accuses S. Korean "Intelligence Service" of Its Crimes
|

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The confrontational nature of the south Korean Intelligence Service (IS) has been disclosed once again. According to data, IS perpetrated political surveillance on progressive forces and put pressure on them, branding them as "leftist forces following the north" during the "presidential election" last year. Bosses of IS were directly involved in the election campaign in a bid to build up public opinion in favor of the presidential candidate from the "Saenuri Party". They cracked down on organizations and figures opposed to or critical of the projects for large four rivers and the conclusion of the "Free Trade Agreement" with the U.S., terming them "forces following the north". This is just a tip of iceberg of the plots hatched by IS against the DPRK, pursuant to its policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen. IS is a general base of the south Korean fascist dictatorial rule and the center of intrigues and confrontation with the DPRK. It is due to IS that democratic rights and freedom and all other rights of the people have been ruthlessly trampled down and pro-reunification patriots and organizations harshly suppressed in south Korea. IS is persecuting and severely punishing people and progressive forces in south Korea opposed to the pro-U.S. fascist rule of the puppet ruling quarters and their confrontation moves against national reunification, labeling them as "forces following the north". It is none other than gangsters of IS who manipulated the anti- DPRK human rights campaign and operations for scattering leaflets and alluring and abducting DPRK's citizens and orchestrated the operations to "bring down statues", a hideous attempt to hurt the dignity of its supreme leadership. It is also a den of the moves to fake up all spying cases and subversive activities and sabotages against the DPRK. It is earning an ill fame as an unlimited fascist plot-breeding machine such as the erstwhile "Central Intelligence Agency". It is becoming all the more pronounced in its moves to escalate confrontation with fellow countrymen. Joining the "Saenuri Party" and other ultra-right conservatives, the IS is busy creating a horrible repressive atmosphere, labeling again progressive forces including the Unified Progressive Party opposed to the anti-DPRK "sanctions" and war maneuvers targeting it as "forces following the north." It held an event in Seoul on Feb. 28 at which it branded officials of different opposition parties, novelists and public figures as "those following the north". It let the representative of Big News give a lecture to term the representative of the Unified Progressive Party and a lawmaker from the party, novelist and others as typical "figures following the north", and the mayor of Seoul and internet broadcasting service Voice of People as "forces following the north". What merits a serious attention is that the conservative group is escalating the repressive campaign to all progressive forces, not confined to the Unified Progressive Party. The group is working hard to crack down on the Solidarity for Progress, the Federation of University Students in the 21st Century, etc. by linking them with the DPRK. The facts go to prove that the campaign launched by the group is a premeditated one to stamp out the progressive forces. The group's moves are a revelation of the extreme repugnancy and confrontation with fellow countrymen. IS should be disbanded at once. |
