Japan Accused of Denying Apology and Reparation for Sexual Slavery for Imperial Japanese Army

Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Recently, Japanese Prime Minister Abe blustered that there is no evidence proving the coercive nature of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, the crime should not be regarded as a political and diplomatic issue and it should be left to historians and experts to discuss the matter at a quiet place. Echoing his utterances, those styling themselves high-ranking politicians of Japan are letting loose a spate of sophism in a bid to create impression that it was falsely accused, asserting that it is necessary to reexamine "Kono's statement" which admitted the crimes related to the sexual slavery and the statement was "a diplomatic error". Minju Joson Sunday says in a bylined commentary in this regard: This is symptoms of doom for a corrupt country in which not a shred of humanity can be found. What Japan did in the past is the unpardonable monstrous crimes against humanity but its present approach toward the crimes is the thrice-cursed ones, the commentary says, and goes on: The actions taking a serious note of Japan's past crimes and calling for their liquidation are gaining momentum in the international arena. A brisk action is taking place even in the U.S., an ally of Japan, to condemn the crimes related to sexual slavery and call for their settlement. This reflects the will of the international community not to allow Japan's past crimes to be buried into oblivion. Japan should never evade its moral responsibility before the international community. Japan is resorting to the moves for distorting history and persecuting Koreans in Japan, far from admitting and making apology and reparation for the historic crimes committed by it against the Korean people. This is another hideous crime pushing the DPRK-Japan relations to an extreme phase. Japan should stop acting rashly, pondering over the grave consequences to be entailed by its hostile policy toward the DPRK. |
