The U.S. has become evermore undisguised and desperate in its hostile acts against the DPRK in the 1990s when the nuclear confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S. started against the backdrop of the temporary trials faced by the socialist movement.

The nuclear showdown which stunned the world was a product of the U.S. brigandish moves to destroy the DPRK. It was an all-out confrontation in political, military and diplomatic fields.

The U.S. made the story of "collapse of social system" in the DPRK an established fact and floated a story about its "collapse". It has desperately staged a conspiratorial farce to brand the DPRK as "a proliferater of nuclear weapons and WMDs", totally negating the stand of the DPRK's government to exercise the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

In the new century it listed the DPRK as an "axis of evil" and a "target of preemptive nuclear attack" after suspending all dialogues and negotiations with the DPRK. It has escalated its moves for confrontation with the DPRK, describing it as "an advanced base of tyranny " and "a target to be totally destroyed".

The U.S. also built international public opinion to shift the blame for the deadlocked six-party talks onto the DPRK.

It has been busy with a propaganda campaign to slander the ideology of the DPRK and its socialist system centered on the popular masses.

It stooped to any infamy to fabricate the "north Korean human rights act," distorting the human rights situation in the DPRK.

The U.S. spread fictions about "drug trafficking", "counterfeit notes", "persecution of religion", "training of computer hackers", "arms smuggling" in a bid to isolate the DPRK, stunning the international community.

It has persisted in its ideological and cultural poisoning and psychological warfare.

A group for "bringing down statues" was organized under the U.S. supervision. Its basic aim was to destabilize the DPRK and topple its social system through subversive activities and sabotages. This is a politically-motivated hideous terrorism that can never be pardoned.

The above-said hostile acts of the U.S. found a more vivid manifestation in its moves to blockade and suffocate the DPRK economically.

It has cooked up nearly five "resolutions on sanctions" against the DPRK over the past 8 years through such hand-raising machine as the UN Security Council in a crafty and vicious bid to internationalize its unilateral "sanctions" and plug more countries into enforcing them. It openly disclosed its criminal scenario to bring down the ideology and social system of the DPRK through its moves to stifle the latter politically and economically and threaten and blackmail the latter militarily.

The joint military exercises staged by the U.S. every year under the pretext of "defense" assumed more aggressive and undisguised offensive nature of preemptive nuclear attack and they have been steadily escalated to be large-scale war drills.

The U.S. hostile acts against the DPRK are rejected by the world progressives as it is hideous crime in wanton violation of international law and justice.
