The farm registered Kim Jong Il as its honorary farm on March 31, 1983.

He visited the farm more than ten times to lead it to bring about a turn in agricultural production.

Visiting Wonhwa-ri on his birthday, February 16, 1969, he gave concrete instructions for increasing grain production and managing fruit trees and cultivating lots of new land as taught by President Kim Il Sung during his field guidance to it.

Kim Il Sung sent it books on agricultural science and technology he read at home and even a radio he used and trucks and new type tractors before any farms.

He also made sure that dwelling houses, school, hospital, shop, etc. were built to give a face-lift to the farm.

A meeting for marking the anniversary took place Sunday.

A reporter said that the farm has turned into a significant place conveying long the undying revolutionary relics of the peerlessly great men and a socialist cultural countryside good to work and live in as it is holding Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in high esteem as honorary farmers.
