The statement accused the U.S. imperialists and their followers of prodding the UN Security Council into cooking up "resolutions on sanctions" to stifle socialist Korea of Juche and staging war exercises against it, pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an uncontrollable phase.

This is a grave provocation to the DPRK, an indication of the sinister attempt of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces to bring down its socialist system and break the will and faith of the Korean people, it noted, and continued:

They should bear in mind that they will have to pay a dear price.

The DPRK will never yield to the U.S. imperialists.

If a war breaks out, it will become a war of justice, a war for national liberation and a revolutionary war against the U.S. imperialists and the class enemies.

The DPRK will give full play to the tremendous muscle and all potentials built up by it so far, deal merciless blows at the U.S. imperialists and achieve a final victory under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.
