The speakers at the meeting accused the present chief executive of reneging on her promise to halve the registration fee so as to lessen the burden of the students.

They continued: A majority of parents are groaning as they are unable to pay snow-balling registration fee and students' dream of learning is trampled down. But the "government" is paying no heed to this.

They declared that they would continue their actions till the issue of the registration fee is solved.

On the same day, a demonstration was staged by people of various social standings in demand of the halved registration fee.
