More Parks in Pyongyang to Be Face-lifted

Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- A number of parks are going to be face-lifted in Pyongyang City this year. In this regard, KCNA met Ri Il Song, an official of the Pyongyang City People's Committee. Ri said: The parks will be furnished with various kinds of sports and amusement facilities as well as welfare facilities. And new pavements will be built and lots of new species of trees planted there. It is planned to build in the park of Sungri-dong No. 2 in Rangnang District a resting place covering a thousand square meters, a skate park and a volleyball court and install sports and amusement facilities for children. Volleyball, basketball, tennis and badminton courts and a skate park will appear in Kangan Park of Phyongchon District. The city has already finished designing and secured building materials and sports and amusement facilities, with a goal to carry out the improvement project of those parks in a short span of time. Meanwhile, a work is progressing to raise saplings of trees and flowering plants needed for greening of the parks. Nearly 20 parks were renovated in Pyongyang last year. |
