In a bylined commentary the newspaper goes on:

The U.S., regarding the Asia-Pacific region as vital to its strategic interests, has intensified military interference in the region.

In particular, the U.S. deployed huge armed forces for aggression in the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity and persistently pursued the strategy to pressurize the DPRK to militarily stifle it. The Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises are typical examples.

Intentionally escalating the tension of the peninsula, the U.S. took issue with the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes and the third underground nuclear test for self-defence to realize its ambition for invasion of the DPRK.

What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. introduced a formation of B-52 strategic bombers from its base on Guam and B-2A stealth strategic bombers from its mainland into the Korean Peninsula to gravely threaten the DPRK with nuclear weapons.

The U.S. has waited for a chance to stifle the DPRK for decades. Now its anti-DPRK acts have entered the practical phase. Under this grave situation, the DPRK could not remain a passive on-looker but made an important decision of taking a resolute counteraction to defend its sovereignty and right to existence.

The DPRK's option is just and it will unhesitatingly launch a do-or-die battle with the U.S. imperialists as it had already declared, no mater what others say, since it has a powerful might.
