The festival represents the Korean people's profound reverence for President Kim Il Sung.

Rim Yong Gum, an official of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, told KCNA:

The festival will be held under the theme of "Kimilsungia in Full Bloom in Praise of the Might of the Great Paektusan Nation".

General and partial designs for the festival venue have come out and the festival posters have already been published.

Under the unfavorable weather conditions, individuals and institutions are paying deep care to the cultivation of potted Kimilsungias.

Taking part in the festival will be organs of armed forces, ministries, national institutions and citizens of different walks of life in the country and overseas compatriots, diplomatic missions and international agencies in Pyongyang and other foreigners.
