S. Korean Believers Urge "Government" to Opt for Peace
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The National Council of Christian Churches in south Korea made public an appeal for peace on the Korean Peninsula, according to CBS of south Korea Friday.

The council held that the north-targeted south Korea-U.S. military exercises should be halted to ensure prosperity common to the south and the north.

The present crisis was sparked because the Lee Myung Bak "government" pursued a policy of confrontation with compatriots, driving the south-north relations into catastrophe, the council asserted demanding the present regime follow a policy for peace.

The council stressed the need to hold an urgent prayer meeting and discussion to prevent a war and achieve peace.
