The party and state of the country are now faced with the important tasks to build the best country where all people live as well as others in the world, the people's paradise on this land. To this end, it is necessary to build powerful military force, nuclear force in particular. The necessity to do so is proved by history.

But for the DPRK's nuclear deterrent, the U.S. would have already unleashed a war on the Korean Peninsula. That would have been the most catastrophic nuclear war mankind has ever experienced.

This is the reason why the world appreciates the DPRK's nuclear deterrent as a reliable guarantee for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

What is the most important for the DPRK in building a thriving nation while standing in confrontation with the U.S., the world's biggest possessor of nuclear weapons, is to bolster up its nuclear force both in quality and quantity.

The new line is a just one as it makes it possible for the DPRK to bolster up its nuclear force and safeguard the security of the country on the basis of the existing Juche-based nuclear industry and fully implement the plan and intention of the party to improve the standard of the people's living by channeling efforts into economic construction.

The new strategic line of the party is an option taken by it under the unavoidable circumstances to cope with the U.S. imperialists' moves to stifle the DPRK by force of nukes.

The U.S. sanctions and moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK will become all the more pronounced as long as its hostile policy towards the DPRK remains unchanged. The DPRK's option to counter the U.S. with powerful nuclear deterrent is, therefore, entirely right.
