The party in its statement on April 3 recalled that the U.S. provocative scenario to encroach upon the sovereignty and supreme interests of the DPRK has reached a reckless phase of its implementation, adding:

To cope with the prevailing grim situation the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK released a special statement in which it declared that the north-south relations would be put in the state of war and if the U.S. and south Korean puppet regime perpetrate a military provocation in any area, it will develop into an all-out war, a nuclear war.

The March, 2013 plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the WPK was held in Pyongyang under the guidance of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

A new strategic line of simultaneously pushing forward the economic construction and the building of nuclear force was laid down at the meeting to cope with the prevailing situation.

The line is an entirely just revolutionary one to build a thriving socialist nation as it calls for channeling bigger efforts into the economic construction while bolstering up the defence capability of the country by reinforcing the nuclear force for self-defence.

We will positively join in the just struggle of the Korean people to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country in the future, too.
