Japanese Media's False Report Rejected

| Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Representatives of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on April 3 visited the Tokyo head office of the Japanese Asahi Shimbun and rejected a report malignantly insulting the DPRK and slandering Chongryon. They strongly protested against Asahi Shimbun for releasing an article seriously insulting the DPRK, Chongryon and Koreans in Japan on the basis of sheer lies. They termed the article a conspiratorial one peppered with invectives against Chongryon as it was written on the basis of baseless misinformation provided by the Japanese security authorities. They demanded the newspaper office make an immediate apology for this and make a correction of the false report. Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan are now becoming increasingly vocal protesting against the Japanese authorities and conservative media busy with a smear campaign against the DPRK and Chongryon. |
