In a press interview on April 1 he mentioned that the future improvement of the acute situation on the Korean peninsula totally depends on the next behavior of the U.S. and the south Korean regime. He went on:

The DPRK has the right to have an access to all means including the nuclear weapons to cope with the U.S. and its lackeys' move to ignite a nuclear war.

The DPRK wishes for peaceful reunification. However, if the U.S. ignites a war, it will not miss that opportunity and realize the national reunification.

Its stand is to protect peace and deter a war.

The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is a paragon of the world in showing how to protect the sovereignty of the country in the present era.

The DPRK will never yield to the hostile forces. It is ready for both a war and peace.

In another press interview on April 2, the first secretary accused the U.S. of threatening the independent countries and their people with nuclear weapons.

It is the legitimate right of the DPRK to develop its nuclear force to cope with the aggression by the U.S., he said, adding:

It is none other than the U.S. and its lackeys, south Korean puppets who are resorting to war maneuvers.

The DPRK is the only country fighting against U.S. imperialism.
