Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place here to celebrate the 101st birth anniversary of the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the KCU from all provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils joining it.

Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, Kim Yong Chun, officials of working people's organizations, officials in different fields in Pyongyang, teachers, pupils, war veterans, persons of merit and pupils' parents.

Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report.

He said that rosy is the future of the members of the KCU thanks to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who personified the deep love for posterity and future shown by the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.

He called upon all the children to study harder, actively conduct the organizational life, social and political activities and the do-good-thing movement in this significant year marking the 65th founding anniversary of the DPRK and the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War with the pride of being members of the KCU.

Then followed an admission ceremony of the KCU.

Led by Mun Kyong Dok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, pupils took an oath joining the KCU.

Officials, war veterans and persons of merit put red ties around the necks of children and pinned KCU badges on their chests.

The pupils who joined the KCU made the first greeting of the KCU loudly replying to the slogan "Let us be always ready for socialist country!"

Then congratulatory speeches were made.
