Jongilbong Literary Prize Instituted in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The Jongilbong Literary Prize was recently instituted in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The prize is awarded to writers who author books that rose to fame as best-sellers in a year.

Its first awardee is Jong Ki Jong, a writer at the April 15 Literary Production Centre.

His hit is the full-length novel "Destiny" in the cycle of novels "Immortal History", which deals with the enduring feats performed by President Kim Il Sung to defend the nation's sovereignty in the period from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s.

The institution has inspired the writers with zeal to author many more books popular among the local people.
