Kim Il Sung Possessed of Noble Personality

Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was tender-hearted father of the people as well as the leader of the revolution, the greatest ever in history. In his lifetime, he was possessed of noble personality that can not be found in any statesman of the world. What he had disliked for life were privilege and special favor for him. During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, he personally drew water and chopped timbers, when his unit was staying in villages, saying the commander himself, too, was a son of an ordinary family. Even after the liberation of the country he led a simple and frugal life, arguing that he should take cooked millet as others did. Therefore, he kindly shook oil-tainted hands of a worker and sat knee to knee with peasants to discuss farming. When meeting soldiers, he carefully listened to them about their combat feats and village news. For him, popular masses were his teacher and the most enjoyable time was when he was among them. His popular traits were manifested in that he had made a long journey of on-site guidance for the happiness of the people all his life, sharing weal and woe with them. The President pursued the benevolent politics of embracing all of those who loved the country and the nation. Deeply moved by his magnanimity and generosity, a host of people who once engaged themselves in treachery chose to take to the road of patriotism.
