A ceremony for conveying the certificates of honorary citizenship was held at the city government office on April 4.

Present there were figures of the city government and masses and a delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

The mayor handed them over to the head of the DPRK delegation.

The mayor said:

I am glad to present the title of honorary citizenship to the three commanders of Mt. Paektu who performed undying feats for the Korean revolution and the world revolution and Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, at a time when the birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung is being celebrated significantly.

The presentation is an expression of profound reverence of our citizens for the three commanders of Mt. Paektu who devoted their lives to the sovereignty of the country and the freedom and happiness of the people and Kim Jong Un, who is successfully carrying forward the idea and cause of the preceding leaders and glorifying the DPRK as a socialist political and military power.

The heroic struggle of the Korean people, who have built socialism of Juche despite persistent sanctions and pressure of the imperialists, is a valuable example for us in building a new progressive and democratic society.
