U.S. Accused of Moving to Put Korean Peninsula under Its Control through War: Newspaper
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The Uruguayan newspaper La Juventud on April 7 carried an editorial condemning the U.S. war moves against the DPRK under the title "The U.S. should dismantle its nuclear weapons".

Saying that whenever the imperialists faced trials internally and externally, they massacred people in different countries and enforced economic blockade and sanctions on the DPRK and other progressive countries in a bid to establish an economic and political order favorable for them, the editorial said, adding:

The tension on the Korean Peninsula is mounting due to the campaign against the DPRK.

Japan was defeated by the armed struggle led by President Kim Il Sung, and afterwards the U.S. militarily intervened in Korea.

The U.S. tried to use nuclear weapons as leverage for the settlement of issue in Korea, too, as it did in Japan.

The U.S. was the provocateur of the Korean war.

After occupying south Korea under the pretext of "disarming" the Japanese army, the U.S. supported the south Korean reactionaries loyal to its interests.

Referring to the efforts made by the DPRK in the face of the U.S. Asia-Pacific domination strategy, the editorial went on:

The U.S. needed a war policy to foster conflicts and develop the economy for manufacturing WMDs including nuclear weapons.

The imperialists are trying to bring under their control the Korean Peninsula, land of great geopolitical significance, pursuant to their strategy for dominating Asia.

The UN Security Council should strive to ensure peace today when nuclear powers exist in the world.
